Meet Andreea

  • Andreea is a Registered Provisional Psychologist under the supervision of Jessica Blake.

  • With a warm demeanour, Andreea works to foster a compassionate and safe atmosphere when working with individuals, youth, and couples. Her approach aims to be affirming to all groups and communities on their personal life journeys. Andreea works with an array of presenting concerns, she is very passionate about working to manage anxiety, stress, and self-criticism while also addressing the potential impacts it may have on the quality of our relationships, self-esteem, body image and sexual functioning. Being a first-generation immigrant, she recognizes the need for cultural humility and a trauma-sensitive lens.

  • To promote client growth, Andreea is trained (and continues to build) in various evidence-based therapeutic modalities to provide quality care (e.g., Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy and Emotion-Focused Therapy) and is committed to tailoring her approach to clients unique needs. That being said, her first objective is to create an atmosphere of safety and mutual understanding when working with others.

My Story

An integral experience that sparked Andreea's desire to enter the field emerged from immigrating with her immediate family from Eastern Europe. Growing up, she came to understand the difficulties of navigating two cultural identities. She credits this experience as a turning point in enrolling in courses to establish competency and humility in working with diverse populations. She also found a passion for self-esteem and body-image work, witnessing the dominant societal pressures found in two cultures. From this, a central goal she sets for her sessions is to increase empowerment and emotional resilience in the face of societal expectations.

Throughout her professional and volunteer experience, Andreea collaborated with various individuals, families, children, and teenagers. Her primary focus revolved around behavioural, emotional, and developmental challenges, including considerable experience supporting individuals with autism. Additionally, she has been instrumental in co-facilitating youth health and wellness workshops and social skills groups. While outside the office, you can find her being out in nature, practicing yoga, and caring for her (feisty) cat, Lucky.

She then completed her Master of Education in Counselling Psychology from the University of Lethbridge in 2023.
